Whole Foods Market’s immensely popular Double Honey Wrap – as a Jalapeño Popper. Yeah, Double Honey Jalapeño Poppers are really good!
Double Honey Jalapeño Poppers
Whole Foods Market sells several signature sandwiches and wraps in their prepared foods section – but this one is the best. And based on how often it is sold out when I visit, I would guess it is one of the most popular, too.
I took the ingredients (Listed on the label. Don’t you just love labeling laws?) and made a Jalapeño Popper out of them.
These are easy to make and wonderful for a nice light lunch. They will also be good at any party you take them to.
For a party, try this – crowd the poppers in an oven safe serving dish instead of a cookie sheet before Step 15 below. Continue with the broiling. Then, when they are ready to serve, scatter a whole blanket of the diced tomatoes across the top. Salt and pepper, to taste and sprinkle with chopped cilantro or other green leaf. Serve directly in the same dish for a beautiful presentation.
About the Recipes
One thing you will notice immediately is that most of our recipes do not have quantities listed for the ingredients. This is by design.
Jalapeños come in many different sizes and shapes (often depending upon the time of year). Their size, the cut you choose (see below) and your own personal tastes will determine how much cream cheese, bacon or other ingredients you put into each pepper. Use your tastes and be sure to experiment a bit.
You will also notice that most directions call for cooking the poppers in an oven. This is because that is the easiest and quickest way for most of us to cook and enjoy jalapeño poppers year round. But if you want to grill, smoke or cook your poppers any other way – Almost every recipe we have will work. We will let you know if it won’t.
