Apple Pie Jalapeño Poppers is a Jalapeño Poppers Lovers’ Recipe. I’m not sure I would take it to a party – Most people would probably be freaked out by the combination of sweet apple pie and hot peppers. But since you are reading this now – You’ll probably like it.
Apple Pie Jalapeño Poppers
This is an Experimental, Jalapeño Poppers-Lover Recipe. I develop these recipes to have fun, taste new tastes and push the boundaries of what a Jalapeño Popper can be. I welcome comments, innovations and improvements on ALL recipes – but especially these.
Here is what I did —
Once, a long time ago, before you could find hot peppers in everything from potato chips to fast food burgers to ice cream, I made a batch of Hot Chocolate Chip Cookies. What I did was to grind up some dried Habaneros and throw about a tablespoon into the flour. They weren’t over-powering, just nicely warm. When I took them to work and offered them to people, I made sure and told them that they were hot. The reactions were split exactly in 2. About 1/2 of my coworkers got a weird look on their face, yelled, “What?” and recoiled. The other 1/2 said, “Cool!” and reached into the bowl.
This is that kind of recipe. Either you get it or you don’t. I won’t apologize.
If you already LOVE Jalapeño Poppers you are going to immediately want to make this recipe. Good. Because it’s pretty tasty. You won’t make it all the time – but you will enjoy it and maybe make it occasionally.
If you aren’t sure by now – I would say this one ain’t for you and you probably need to move on to the next one. No worries. Look below for links to recipes you will like.
About the Recipes
One thing you will notice immediately is that most of our recipes do not have quantities listed for the ingredients. This is by design.
Jalapeños come in many different sizes and shapes (often depending upon the time of year). Their size, the cut you choose (see below) and your own personal tastes will determine how much cream cheese, bacon or other ingredients you put into each pepper. Use your tastes and be sure to experiment a bit.
You will also notice that most directions call for cooking the poppers in an oven. This is because that is the easiest and quickest way for most of us to cook and enjoy jalapeño poppers year round. But if you want to grill, smoke or cook your poppers any other way – Almost every recipe we have will work. We will let you know if it won’t.

Apple Pie Jalapeño Poppers Recipe
Ingredients (See Box Above, "IMPORTANT - About Our Recipes" for Information about Quantities)
- Jalapeño Peppers
- Salt and freshly ground Black Pepper to taste
- Cream Cheese softened
- 1 can Apple Pie Filling
- Graham Crackers crumbled
- Cinnamon Sugar
- Brown Sugar
- Bacon
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Cut the jalapeños into a boat cut. (Click the link above to see how to do a Boat Cut.)
- Sprinkle insides of cut jalapeños lightly with salt and pepper, to taste.
- Place the jalapeños on a cookie sheet. Place sheet in preheated oven. Cook for about 10 minutes. (Skip this step if you prefer your finished jalapeños to be more raw and crunchy.)
- Remove from oven and allow to cool slightly so you can handle them.
- Add cream cheese to each jalapeño to cover the bottom, leaving a concave "well" to place other ingredients. (Click the link above to see pictures of this step, if the instructions are unclear to you.) Set jalapeños aside.
- Top with a nice portion of apple pie filling.
- Top this with a spoonful of graham cracker crumbs.
- Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.
- Wrap with a bacon slice. I found that using only 1/2 slice of bacon tasted best. It let more of the apple taste come through.
- Sprinkle bacon with brown sugar and/or more of the cinnamon sugar.
- Place jalapeños back on cookie sheet and place back in oven.
- Cook, watching closely, until cream cheese is hot and bubbling and bacon is done, about 15 - 20 minutes. Check to make sure jalapeños and bacon are done to your liking. If not, place back in oven for more time.
- Remove from oven when done and enjoy hot.
